John 7:38

 I don't know why, but today seems to be a day of Scripture revelation. Not complaining at all, but feeling inadequate--and knowing that I haven't really understood the magnitude of some verses (that I thought I understood) is humbling, as it should be.

Clearly, we’re ALL "seeing through a glass darkly" for now. In these non-glorified, dying bodies we will never grasp every bit of Scripture. We need changed bodies and souls to comprehend all of it. However, if you KNOW the Subject of the Bible...and not just the words of the Bible, then you can know more--a lot more

God has and will (continue to) reveal some great and precious promises to His children--those who are born again AND seeking His truth, with the help of the Holy Ghost. "...He will teach you all things" [John 14:26]. Without the Spirit alive in our hearts, the Bible becomes a book of rules and regulations--and that is how we will treat the Bible in our interactions with people. With the Spirit of God dwelling on the inside, the Bible becomes (in us] the Word of God. You know the letter (laws) kills; but the Spirit brings life. Why does the letter (the Law of Moses) kill if it is good [1 Timothy 1:8]? It "kills" because all the Law could do was to bring an awareness of our sinfulness. It had no power to rescue us from sin and its destruction. We really have to put the Law in its rightful place, if we don't want,  the apostle, Paul accusing us of being "bewitched".

The Word of God, to believers "as the Scripture has said" Is so much more! The Word of God is God revealing Himself. It can't be on our terms, though. We have to believe on Him AS THE SCRIPTURE HAS SAID. The fact that, there are about one billion Christians separated into about 45,000 denominations (yes, 45000!) indicates that not many of us actually believe "in/on Him as the Scripture has said". In fact, it's a pretty minute number. I'll just add here, there was only one denomination when the church began. Only human interference created these divisions. Man demanding uniformity rather than unity got us that many denominations.

If we believed on His terms and not our own, there would be NO such divisions among us. Jesus prayed, Father, make them one; even as We (the Father and the Son) are One. Denominationalism is a big issue, but not the only issue.

I'm certain that if we sought Him in prayer, along with careful study of the Word of God, we would do a lot of things differently. We certainly would be less inclined to our Roman Catholic interpretations of Scripture. It was only when Emperor Constantine decided to make "Christianity" the state religion that everything from baptism to pastoral behavior to New Testament living was contaminated--not by the Word of God, but by human intellect.

You can see that attempting to make Christianity something that it was never meant to be is really dangerous. Christianity is all about the heart. Forcing non-Christians to live as if they were already Christians is such a bad idea. Non-Christians, don't have any capability to live right without the Holy Ghost. Even Christians fail to live righteous lives (with the Holy Ghost). So, in light of our shortcomings, we should give them a lot grace. After all, sinners sin--they're doing what comes naturally to them. Honestly, to expect more is pretty hypocritical, since as Christians, we still commit sin.

The Word of God is complete and doesn’t need human additions to be true. The Word speaks for Himself. The Bible is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Let's get back to "as the Scripture has said" so that we can experience the rivers of living water flowing out of us, as the Word was meant to. Then, as we live out the truth of the Word, we will be magnets drawing men and women to Christ, and not repelling them.

There is so much More than you and I ever imagined. We need revelation. We need Christ in us, "reconciling the world to Himself".

Pray and Read:
●John 7:37-39;
●Deuteronomy 29:29;
●1 Corinthians chapters 2,13...for now, but as I said, there is More.
