…AND IT FLOWS TO THE LOWEST VALLEY!

So, often, we get in a rut of legalism when we come to God in our need—for salvation, for cleansing and renewal. We sing the songs about His rich grace, but when the chips are down, we are too ashamed to come boldly—until we try to fix some things or make ourselves/ situation look better. There’s this wonderful property about the blood of Jesus Christ though. It has the ability not only to reach to the “highest mountain” but it also “flows to the lowest valley”! None of us can go to a depth of sin or degradation so low that the blood of Jesus Christ can’t reach us, and deliver us totally and completely. And, there is this other wonderful attribute about the blood of Jesus; it makes the way possible for us to receive the gift of grace. You know, we can't do it ourselves, anyway; and the harder we struggle to do what only God can do in us, the more hopeless we feel--surrender is the way to win. We can't work our way to God--if we could, then we would have so much to boast in, but its only the blood of our sinless Savior--pure and freely flowing, that cleanses, refreshes and renews. What power!!!

Until this year, I thought this song “The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power” had to be written many years ago, by one of the great hymn writers of old. I found out instead, that it was birthed rather recently—in the 1970’s (my own lifetime) and written by Andrae’ Crouch. Its words hold so much depth and meaning that it fits in easily with the other “blood songs” and hymns of yesteryear—and is often sung within a medley with those. I don’t know what transpired in Brother Crouch’s life to inspire such a powerful testimony of the vastness of the power of the blood of Jesus Christ—but this song makes the point with an awesome anointing. I hope its words encourage someone today. No matter what station of life we find ourselves in—on the mountain, feeling as if we have it all and are in need of nothing and no one; yet, feeling the void that no one or anything can fill except Jesus Christ. Or perhaps, someone woke up today with the dread that there is no hope left—and no way possible to climb out of a deep horrible abyss of sin and failure. Be encouraged, the answer to every woe and every ill is Jesus Christ, and the vehicle to gain access to Him is His amazing, wonder-working, precious blood—therein is the power, and He was willing to allow it to flow freely, just for you!
The Blood Will Never Lose It Power

The blood that Jesus shed for me,
way back on Calvary;
the blood that gives me strength
from day to day,
it will never lose its power.

It reaches to the highest mountain,
it flows to the lowest valley;
the blood that gives me strength
from day to day,
it will never lose its power.

It soothes my doubts and calms my fears,
and it dries all my tears;
the blood that gives me strength
from day to day,
it will never lose its power.~

Surrender.

Grace always,
Lisa
