satan is NOT Omnipotent!
There are some basic things that can be simple to lose sight of, if we get caught up in circumstances. These things will cause you get off track, spiritually: trying to avenge yourself--fighting your own battles, seeing people as the "enemy", forgetting that God is in control and acting as if satan is omnipotent. he is not! Only God is omnipotent.
It might seem like a ridiculous statement--laughable, even, to say that satan is not omnipotent. "Of course, he isn't!" you might say. However, think about our actions, speech and attitudes to see if it still sounds so ridiculous, in light of our battle stance. How is your testimony? Does it exist, first of all? Does it exist, only on Sunday. If it exists--is it only around the saints of God? Does it exist only when things are good, or does it remain intact even when things don't go your way? What happens to your testimony when the bottom drops out? What do your co-worker's hear when you are under attack? Is it, "Yet, will I trust Him!" or "I am sick of this, and I am not going to put up with this mess anymore--I am going to do________. Who is fighting your battles???
Do you remember when satan wanted to attack Job? He had to get permission from God, before he could touch him. Who is in control??? satan cannot do anything, to you without an okay from God--and if God allows him to touch you, it is becauser He has already prepared you to go through the trial--and He is already there, in it, with you. Job is a perfect examination, too. satan didn't just attack his body, and take his children and property. satan used his wife, who loved him (Job), watching him suffer, immensely, say to him, "why don't you just curse God and die?!!!" She wasn't a bad person; it is hard to watch those you love suffer, but Job, still remembered that God was righteous, just and good, and so he continued to trust. Then his friends came to visit. They sat and looked at him, silently and when they did speak, they accused. They said, "Job, you couldn't possibly be going through all of this, unless you did something wrong--confess!" Job got mad, then, but in all of that he still trusted God. This is real, because when the bottom falls out, in our lives, somebody that loves you, might tempt you to give up on God--they might say, "I can't be bothered with church; you go and give and look what your going through!" Then, your "friends" might accuse you, to your face (or behind your back), too. People, even saved folk, believe that trials denote sin in your life, even though the Bible teaches us, otherwise. We must know the Word. Jesus warned people against this dangerous, faulty thinking (John 9:1-3)--still, it persists, among us, today.
We could make our lives so much simpler, and at the same time, be living according to the will of God. It is time to stop talking about, "What I am going to do", "What I am not going to put up with" and "If it happens just once more, what I am going to do!!!" The Great Avenger is not you, but Jesus Christ. However, as long as you are fighting your own battles, He is not going to force His way into your situation. We have to choose to surrender our circumstances to Him. When we do that, and "hold our peace", we open the door for Him to "fight our battles" (Exodus 14:14). I don't know about you, but I don't want to fight my own battles--I am not as good at it, as God is. He wins, but I just make a bigger mess. When I give it to Him, my mind is blown, by the way He turns the (seemingly) impossible, situations, people, etc. in my life around to benefit me!
Why is it that we insist on trying to handle things our way, the natural, carnal way? Why do we choose carnal weapons, when we are spiritual beings, fighting spiritual wars, in the heavenlies? Either, we have forgotten who we are, or we don't know who we are. The things that happen to us (that take our focus away from God and building His Kingdom) are spiritual attacks. They may look like natural, earthly things--the people who get on your nerves, the car breakdowns, the money woes, the illnesses, etc., they are satan's slick attempts to get you focused on the circumstances, rather than on God and His business. Stay focused, and give those things to God. He has your back. If you are doing the work He has called you to, don't you know that He will take care of your affairs? He has not forgotten you--and He knows everything that concerns you, today. He has not fallen asleep; He never slumbers, and He cares for you.
Do you really know Who is in charge? Do you really believe that God is in charge? Have you given Him complete control, over your life--or, are you still trying to fight your battles? Are you giving everyone a piece of your mind? Stop! You are helping satan destroy you.
Know that the Omnipotent (All-Powerful) God, Jesus Christ, resides within YOU! He is there, waiting for you, to let Him, fight your battles. Hold your peace. Access the OFFENSIVE weapons of our warfare. Stop chasing satan down--you don't have to. He will flee from your presence!
Walk in your destiny, true warrior. Know who you are. Stand still and let God fight for you, then gather the spoils!
Love and Abundant Blessings,
Lisa
